PASADENA, CA — A five year old boy is missing after police say his father was found unresponsive in a California park.

South Pasadena police and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. homicide investigators say Aramazd Andressian Jr. was last seen by his mother last week when she turned the boy over to his father for a court ordered scheduled visitation.

When the boy’s father, 35-year-old Aramazd Andressian, failed to return the boy on Saturday as scheduled, the child’s mother contacted police.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. Capt. Chris Bergner told KTLA that the boy’s father has refused to help in the search for his son.

“He’s not with his mother and he’s not with his father. He’s with somebody and we’re pleading to that somebody to let us bring him home,” said Bergner.

Bergner said police took Andressian into custody and charged him with one count of suspicion of child endangerment and one count of child abduction after the child’s father gave a series of confusing and contradictory statements to investigators in regard to the boy’s disappearance.

He is currently being held on a $10 million bail.

At least one home has been served with a search warrant in connection with the boy’s disappearance, sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza said Monday. The child’s mother, who was in the midst of divorcing Andressian, is said to be distraught over her son’s disappearance.

Aramazd Jr. is described as standing about 3 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing around 55 pounds. He was last seen wearing a turquoise shirt and plaid shorts or a gray-and-white-striped shirt with gray sweatpants. Police say he has a small mole on the bottom of his right shoulder.

Anyone with information about the boy’s disappearance is urged to call L.A. County Sheriff’s detectives at 323-890-5500 or South Pasadena police at 626-403-7297.
